SYOSSET, N.Y., April 6, 2005 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced that it
will be the sole provider of surveillance equipment for the 2005 World Series of
Poker, the world’s biggest, oldest and most prestigious poker tournament. To
accommodate the special facility being built to host the tournament, Honeywell
will install a digital video system that meets all gaming regulations. This
year’s tournament, June 2 through July 15 at the Rio All Suite Hotel &
Casino in Las Vegas, is expected to draw more than 5,000 poker fans and award
more than $50 million in prize money.
“The surveillance for the World Series of Poker must meet the same strict
regulations that our casinos do, and we trust Honeywell to provide equipment
that will meet these regulations,” said Tom Flynn, Director of Surveillance for
the Rio and Harrah’s Las Vegas. “Honeywell has proven their expertise at our
casino, and we trust them to help ensure the safety of all tournament entrants,
fans and prize money at this event as well.”
Honeywell’s KD6i high-speed dome tracking makes up the PTZ portion of the
more than 150 cameras that are required to cover all of the tables, etc. for
this event. This industry-leading camera provides precise movement, high quality
images and all the features preferred by the industry’s most demanding users. In
addition, in order to meet high-quality, high-resolution requirements, as well
as take advantage of a leading edge, easy-to-use system, Mr. Flynn requested
that an Enterprise Network Video Recorder system be used.

The World Series of Poker made its unofficial debut in 1949 when two poker
legends competed for five months straight, breaking only for sleep. It wasn’t
until 1970 that the tournament was made official, and its popularity grew
exponentially in the following years. This year’s tournament will offer 33
events that collectively offer players the opportunity to win their share of the
prize money.
